Hip Compression Wrap

Description

The PowerPlay cold compression hip wrap is manufactured from plush foam laminated with contact closure straps, removable gel pack with tricot lining and non-toxic gel. To clean, close all contact closures and hand wash in warm water with mild soap. This product should be air dried without using high temperatures to wash or dry.

For the compression feature, purcase the PowerPlay compression pump and charger.

Designed to combine the benefits of cold and compression therapy, here are some reasons to use PowerPlay’s hip wrap: 

• Hemiarthroplasty: A hemiarthroplasty is half of a hip replacement and is a rare surgery, typically only performed after a traumatic injury. Recovery is similar to post-hip arthroplasty and will require rest and physical therapy. PowerPlay’s hip wrap can aid in recovery during or between physical therapy surgeries.  
• Hip resurfacing: Hip resurfacing can be done in place of a total hip surgery, cold and compression therapy can assist with reducing pain and swelling after this procedure. 
• Hip replacements: On average, it takes about a month to recover from a hip replacement surgery. While physical therapy starts prior to a hip replacement surgery, applying cold compression therapy between appointments or at post-op PT can help stimulate faster recovery. 
• Bursitis: The inflammation of the bursa, a closed fluid-filled sac that reduces friction between tissue, is common for hip joints. This can be treated with devices made to reduce pain and swelling. Combine over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medication with PowerPlay’s cold sequential compression therapy for reduced swelling.
