Frankie Goris is a physical therapist and a certified professional trainer at Vale Sports Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy in Englewood, New Jersey.
His unique facility combines traditional physical therapy with a strength and conditioning facility to help patients recover from sports-related injuries as well as normal aches and pains.
“We want to help people get back to the activities they want to do, whether that’s just pickleball on the weekend or playing division one baseball. It’s a unique setup here, and it’s been working well!”

Using Cold Compression for Physical Therapy
Dr. Goris and his team often utilize the PowerPlay cold compression system within their physical therapy program — typically to conclude a treatment session.
He says the power play system can address concerns with inflammation and pain using cold or cryotherapy as well as “vasopneumatic” compression: “You get the best of both worlds combined into one unit.”
“Some of the best responses have come from ankle, knee, and shoulder injury patients,” he says. “They find it very comfortable and very easy to use.”
Easy Cold Compression Therapy at Home or in the Clinic
Dr. Goris loves the convenience of using PowerPlay in his clinic.
“From the provider side, the efficiency is huge. You don’t need an ice machine, you don’t need water, there’s no mess. We can have a quick turnover between getting somebody iced down and then having it ready for the next patient.”

He shares that PowerPlay is also a patient fan favorite, and he often sends patients home with a unit. There’s minimal setup, and it’s easy to keep track of how many times a patient is icing each day.
It’s also lightweight and portable, which is perfect for traveling and away games.
That ease of use is critical. Dr. Goris worries about patients skipping treatments at home, but PowerPlay is effective and easy to use.
JonCarlos’ Story
One recent Vale patient was a prime example of someone who saw PowerPlay’s effectiveness firsthand.
Joncarlos’ issue began about a year ago: “I was feeling some knee pain when squatting or doing some leg exercises, and even more when playing basketball.”
This chronic pain caused daily soreness. At its worst, he felt like his knee was going to “pop out.”
While undergoing treatment by Dr. Goris and his team, Joncarlos received a Powerplay 360 Knee Wrap and found instant relief from regular cold compression therapy.
“The PowerPlay unit helped tremendously,” he says.
He explains that he had used other units in the past, but they were much more complicated. Especially with PowerPlay’s freezer gel packs, he says the system “is very easy to use and highly convenient.”
“I feel amazing! I no longer feel pain when doing leg exercises, and I can now play to my fullest potential. The PowerPlay unit has been a great tool in my recovery process, and I plan to use it to ensure my future recovery goes well.”
